This was the final NSCA Competition shoot for the year and
what a shoot it was. Tony Henman, Bob Korzdorfer and Kim Henderson put in hours
of work and completely reset the course and did it as it had never been done
before.
The targets and presentations were some of the best we have ever had, Haliburton
donated the use of a crane truck, so a tower about 40-50' tall was on one
station, then we had a battue bouncing off a large trampoline on one station and
we had a pair of bouncing bunnies on another, all firsts for our club!
At all of the stations, the shooter had a good opportunity to shoot the birds,
but none of them were "easy" targets, the shooter had to pay attention or the
darn things would get away from ya! Everyone seemed to really enjoy the course,
oh there were some head shakin' and "choice" words spoken at some of the
birds, but they were laughing when they said 'em! Mr. Henderson and his son
grilled up some great burgers and 'dogs for lunch and everyone got to eat and
visit while awards were tallied and given out. The added money for the shoot,
donated by the club as a way to say "thank you" to the shooters who supported
the club and its shoots this year made the different purses have some nice
payouts and we gave away some nice door prizes.
I would like to thank all of you shooters for supporting the club and its
functions during the year and I hope that you will continue to come up and enjoy
the facility, shoot some clay birds and meet and visit with some really nice
people. Special thanks to Tony Henman for all the work he has done this year as
the Sporting Clays director, he had some wonderful help with Bob Korzdorfer and
Kim Henderson stepping up and doing all they have done, without those 3 guys, it
would not have happened, so if you get a chance, tell them "THANKS"!
The next scheduled Sporting Clays shoot will be the Ducks Unlimited
Shoot on August 29th. This will be a SUPER FUN shoot,
so please try and attend and support a worthy cause.
We will have some practice sporting clays shoots in July and August and as we
get them scheduled, I will post on the website. Thanks again to everyone, We had
some really nice shoots this year and I am looking forward to some more in the
future!
